King Abdullah and General Musharraf exchanged 'Bin Laden family' against 'Sharif family' : US Cable

Saudi King Abdullah and Pakistani President General Musharraf exchanged 'Bin Laden family' against 'Sharif family' with each other for achieving political harmony in both brotherly states.

According to leaked cables, late Lebanon Prime Minister Rafique Al-Hariri helped in brokering this reverse-rival-exchange deal between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. It has been learned that some other international players like George Bush, Tony Greig and Sheikh Zayed were also involved in this deal.

The secret US cable, which revealed this information, was sent from US consulate in Jeddah.

The cable released details of the secret deal allowing Nawaz to go into exile in Saudi Arabia for 10 years after he was convicted on charges, like hijacking, following the military coup against him by former President Pervez Musharraf.

It has also been revealed that after 9/11 Saudi Arabia was concerned about the security of Bin Laden family, and therefore accessed President Musharraf to help in this regard. General Musharraf acted secretly and gave refuge to Bin Laden family in a cave at Shahkot, Haripur, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Later on Nawaz Sharif returned back from exile, saying that he is not a signatory of this deal, while Osama bin Laden stayed in Pakistan.
