Pakistan's Strongest Political Party attends APC

The All Parties Conference (APC) convened by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is also attended by Pakistan's Strongest Political Party, the Pakistan Army. Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shamim Wyne represented Army's Political Wing.

The agenda of the APC is to bring all political parties and forces onboard to formulate a consensus policy regarding US accusations against Pakistan, i.e. regarding the Haqqani Network.

Strained ties between Pakistan and the United States are under discussion in the APC. According to sources Federal Defense Minister Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar is busy in mending shoes at his shoe factory. Therefore, DG ISI Lieutenant General Ahmed Shuja Pasha is briefing the conference on the security of the country and region along with Pak-US relations.

The ISI Chief explained that "Every militant organization has multiple wings, including a political wing, and Haqqani Network is no exception". He further said that "We only keeps liaison with Haqqani Network's political wing for peace in Afghanistan".

May be Pakistan Army is no exception as well?

Jalaluddin Haqqani is "Goodness Personified" : US Congressman

Chieftain of Haqqani Network, the most feared Taliban insurgent groups, Jalaludin Haqqani was admired and glorified as "Goodness Personified" by West and the Islamic World during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.

In the 1980s, Jalaluddin Haqqani was cultivated as a "unilateral" asset of the CIA and received tens of thousands of dollars in cash from US for his work in fighting the Soviet Army in Afghanistan.

The influential US Congressman and the first civilian to receive the Honored Colleague Award by the CIA, Charlie Wilson, who helped to direct tens of millions dollars to the Afghan resistance, was so enamored of Jalaluldin Haqqani that he referred to him as "Goodness Personified".

Motorway's Killer Range kills more

Three dozen school children have died in an accident, as an overloaded and speeding passenger bus overturned on the Killer Range (Deadly Salt Range) on Kallar Kahar - Lilla Section of Islamabad - Lahore Motorway (M2).

The overloaded Seventy-Two Seater Bus, which was carrying more than a hundred school children and five school staff members, skidded at the accident prone Killer Range due to brake failure. The unfortunate passengers of Faisalabad’s Millat Grammar School were on their way back from a school trip to popular tourist sites of Khewra Salt Mines and Kallar Kahar Resort.

Twenty-six people died on the spot, Chakwal DPO Ali Mohsin said. Among those dead were students, the Vice-Principal and the Driver and Helper (Conductor) of the bus. The victims were taken to the Fauji Foundation Hospital in Kallar Kahar and the District Headquarters Hospital in Chakwal (The disctrict Headquarter).

"The driver informed one of the teachers first about the brake failure. But the vice-principal told everyone to stay calm and prepare to jump out of the bus," said injured tenth-grader Muhammad Bilal. But before the passengers could make their moves, the bus overturned. "As the bus was overloaded, some children were standing. They are the ones who died or are severely injured."

The first response came instantly from the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), as FWO ambulances arrived at the scene along with a crane to lift the bus and allow rescue workers to pull out bodies and injured passengers. Rescue 1122 workers also arrived soon after and assisted FWO teams.

It has been learnt that the Principal of Millat Grammar School Faisalabad showed high level of irresponsibility and refused to hire another bus and thus packed too many students into one bus – evidently saving money at the expense of student safety on a trip through the Killer Range.

Haqqani asks "Why US wants to kill me?"

The Leader of the feared Haqqani Network, Sirajuddin Haqqani asks why US want to kill me? Citing he neither wears a turban nor carries a gun (i.e. in public). He accused the US of violating its basic legal principles by declaring an unarmed man as their enemy.

Speaking by satellite phone from an undisclosed location, Sirajuddin Haqqani said he’s absolutely clueless about the reason of US enemity towards him? "Arbitrary killing is not a solution to political problems," he said.

"I neither wear a turban nor carry a gun, still they count me an enemy?"

According to the New American Database, at least a quarter of the Drone Attacks conducted by US since 2008 have targeted the Haqqanis. And about fifty five members of his family, including his brother, have been killed in Drone Attacks by US.

Yet he is far from being a desperate fugitive on the run.

High Court upholds Government decision to seal Labs, including Shaukat Khanum

The Lahore High Court dismissed petitions by private Medical Laboratories and Hospitals sealed by Punjab Government for overcharging of Dengue Fever Test, including famous Shaukat Khanum Hospital Labs.

The High Court ruled that contempt of court proceedings would be initiated against the Laboratories found of non-compliance with the Punjab Government direction of charging Rs 90 for Dengue Fever Test till 15th November.

During the course of hearing, a Law Officer informed the Court that Drug Inspectors were taking action against Medical Laboratories charging more than Rs 90 for Dengue Fever Test.

Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan was hearing a writ petition challenging sealing of Zeenat Laboratory allegedly for charging high fee for Dengue Fever Test.

However, Petitioner`s counsel Raza Kazim insisted that his client would charge Rs 90 for Dengue Test but it was not possible to charge Rs 90 for CBC Test. The counsel argued that the government`s order about Rs 90 was illegal and had no legal cohesion.

Justice Khalid Mehmood, however, said it was not a case of legality or illegality rather it was a case of morality.

Earlier, the Punjab Government had sealed off several privately owned Medical Laboratories, including two Medical Labs of the well-reputed Shaukat Khanum Hospital of Lahore for overcharging of Dengue Fever Test.

Dr Aafia the 'Grey Ghost Lady of Bagram' : US Cable

Dr Aafia Siddiqui, the Pakistani Neuroscientist who disappeared with her three young children in Karachi on 30th March, 2003, and did not reappear until 17th July, 2008, in Afghanistan. She was then rendered to the United States, where she was put on trial for attempted murder, and was convicted and given an Eighty Six (86) year prison sentence a year ago.

However, there are many reason to doubt the official narrative about her capture in 2008, and her whereabouts for the previous five years.

A US diplomatic cable released by WikiLeaks has confirmed that Dr Aafia was indeed the 'Grey Ghost Lady of Baghram' or 'Prisoner 650', and was in US custody in Bagram. According to the cable, US diplomats in Pakistan stated that "Bagram officials have assured us that they have not been holding Siddiqui for the last four years, as has been alleged, in fact they only got hold of her a couple of years ago".

MQM confessed involvement in 12th May Killings: US Cable

Senior Leader of Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Dr Farooq Sattar has confessed that MQM workers were involved in the 12th May, 2007 Killings in Karachi, reveals WikiLeaks.

A US Diplomatic Cable sent from Karachi to Washington on 17th May 2007 contained details of a fourty minute phone conversation between Farooq Sattar and Charge d'affaires US Consulate Peter Boday. During the conversation Sattar admitted that certain members of his party were involved in the 12th May incident and the party should consider unarming its militant wing.

The details of another US Diplomatic Cable sent from Islamabad on 16th May 2007 says that the British High Commission has informed US that, on 9th May, British Diplomats attempted to convince MQM Parliamentary Leader Farooq Sattar to postpone the MQM’s 12th May Pro-Musharraf Demonstration so that it would not compete with the Chief Justice’s Rally in Karachi. Sattar refused, but assured the Diplomats that the MQM Demonstrations would not be violent. Sattar stressed at the time that violence was not in the Party’s interest. An Embassy Contact reported on 15th May that Sattar had had no foreknowledge of plans for violence. Sattar reportedly told Government Officials that the decision to go ahead with the Demonstration was "Not his Recommendation". He hinted that he was overruled by MQM’s Leader-in-Exile, Altaf Hussain.

It is worth noted that on 14th & 15th May, Sattar apologized to Journalists for Armed Attacks on Aaj Television’s Karachi Office on 12th May. Sattar has not acknowledged any responsibility for the broader breakdown in Law and Order.

During his visit to the FIA Headquarters, the Interior Minister urged the social-networking service providers to extend their help to the government for having a better law and order situation in the country and also for exterminating the menace of terrorism from the country.

Rehman Malik said the government would be compelled to block certain social-networking service provider’s sites, such as Facebook, YouTube, Google, and Twitter, if they did not extend cooperation to the government.

Interior Minister said that criminals and terrorist organisations were sharing intelligence through internet and curbing these activities was imperative.

US Pull-out Plan from Afghanistan is "Idiotic" : Pakistan Army

Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani has termed US Pull-out Plan from neighboring Afghanistan as "Idiotic".

"Frankly, I have my doubts. I thought only an idiot can make such plans" General Ashfaq Kayani told while on the sidelines of a NATO Military Committee Conference in the Spanish city of Seville. Kayani said he thought an alternative deadline might be possible.

"No date can be a final date," he said.

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force is training Afghan Security Forces and is due to fully withdraw from the war-torn Afghanistan by 2014.

Taliban Insurgents have recently, however, attacked several well-guarded targets in the Afghan Capital, Kabul.

Fighting Dengue Fever!

Dengue Fever also known as Breakbone Fever, is an infectious tropical disease caused by the Dengue Virus. Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pains, and a characteristic skin rash that is similar to Measles. In a small proportion of cases the disease develops into the life-threatening Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, resulting in bleeding, low levels of blood platelets and blood plasma leakage, or into dengue shock syndrome, where dangerously low blood pressure occurs.

Dengue is transmitted by several species of mosquito within the genus Aedes, principally A. Aegypti. The virus has four different types; infection with one type usually gives lifelong immunity to that type, but only short-term immunity to the others. Subsequent infection with a different type increases the risk of severe complications.

There are no approved vaccines for the dengue virus. Prevention thus depends on control of and protection from the bites of the mosquito that transmits it.

The primary method of controlling A. Aegypti is by eliminating its habitats. This is done by  or by adding insecticides or biological control agents to these areas, although spraying with organophosphate or pyrethroid insecticides is not thought to be effective. However, Aerial Spray over the effected town or region could be very effective.

Keeping the environment clean is thought to be the best way to control and eliminate the Dengue mosquito's habitat, i.e. following the Islamic pratices of Tahara (Cleanliness).

Reducing open collections of water through environmental modification is the preferred method of control, given the concerns of negative health effect from insecticides and greater logistical difficulties with control agents. Using mosquito netting while resting, and/or the application of insect repellent (DEET being the most effective).

Women can prevent Dengue mosquito bites by wearing clothing that fully covers the skin, i.e. by following the Islamic practices of Hijab.

The simple story of 9/11

There have been various 9/11 stories that question the official account of the 11th September, 2001 events, and arose because of what proponents of these stories believe to be inconsistencies in the official conclusions or some evidence that was overlooked.

However, the Corbertt Report, simply tells us everything we ever wanted to know about the 9/11 Episode.

On the morning of 11th September, 2001, nineteen men armed with boxcutters directed by a man on a dialysis machine in a cave fortress halfway around the world using a satellite phone and a laptop directed the most sophisticated penetration of the most heavily-defended airspace in the world, overpowering the passengers and the military combat-trained pilots on four commercial aircrafts before flying those planes wildly off course for over an hour without being molested by a single fighter interceptor.

These nineteen hijackers, devout religious fundamentalists who liked to drink alcohol, snort cocaine, and live with pink-haired strippers, managed to knock down three buildings with two planes in New York, while in Washington a pilot who couldn’t handle a single engine Cessna was able to fly a 757 in an eight thousand (8,000) feet descending two-seventy (270) degree corskscrew turn to come exactly level with the ground, hitting the Pentagon in the budget analyst office where DoD staffers were working on the mystery of the 2.3 Trillion Dollars that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld had announced "missing" from the Pentagon’s coffers in a press conference the day before, on 10th September, 2001.

Luckily, the news anchors knew who did it within minutes, the pundits knew within hours, the Administration knew within the day, and the evidence literally fell into the FBI’s lap. But for some reason a bunch of crazy conspiracy theorists demanded an investigation into the greatest attack on American soil in history.

The investigation was delayed, underfunded, set up to fail, a conflict of interest and a cover up from start to finish. It was based on testimony extracted through torture, the records of which were destroyed. It failed to mention the existence of WTC7, Able Danger, Ptech, Sibel Edmonds, Osama Bin Laden and the CIA, and the drills of hijacked aircraft being flown into buildings that were being simulated at the precise same time that those events were actually happening. It was lied to by the Pentagon, the CIA, the Bush Administration and as for Bush and Cheney…well, no one knows what they told it because they testified in secret, off the record, not under oath and behind closed doors. It didn’t bother to look at who funded the attacks because that question is of "little practical significance". Still, the 9/11 Commission did brilliantly, answering all of the questions the public had (except most of the victims’ family members’ questions) and pinned blame on all the people responsible (although no one so much as lost their job), determining the attacks were "a failure of imagination" because "I don’t think anyone could envision flying airplanes into buildings" except the Pentagon and FEMA and NORAD and the NRO.

The DIA destroyed 2.5 TB of Data on Able Danger, but that’s OK because it probably wasn’t important.

The SEC destroyed their records on the investigation into the insider trading before the attacks, but that’s OK because destroying the records of the Largest Investigation in SEC history is just part of routine record keeping.

NIST has classified the data that they used for their model of WTC7′s collapse, but that’s OK because knowing how they made their model of that collapse would "jeopardize public safety".

The FBI has argued that all material related to their investigation of 9/11 should be kept secret from the public, but that’s OK because the FBI probably has nothing to hide.

This man never existed, nor is anything he had to say worthy of your attention, and if you say otherwise you are a paranoid conspiracy theorist and deserve to be shunned by all of humanity. Likewise him, him, him, and her. (and her and her and him).

Osama Bin Laden lived in a cave fortress in the hills of Afghanistan, but somehow got away. Then he was hiding out in Tora Bora but somehow got away. Then he lived in Abottabad for years, taunting the most comprehensive intelligence dragnet employing the most sophisticated technology in the history of the world for ten years, releasing video after video with complete impunity (and getting younger and younger as he did so), before finally being found in a daring SEAL Team raid which wasn’t recorded on video, in which he didn’t resist or use his wife as a human shield, and in which these crack special forces operatives panicked and killed this unarmed man, supposedly the best source of intelligence about those dastardly terrorists on the planet. Then they dumped his body in the ocean before telling anyone about it. Then a couple dozen of that team’s members died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

This is the story of 9/11, brought to you by the media which told you the hard truths about JFK and incubator babies and mobile production facilities and the rescue of Jessica Lynch.

If you have any questions about this story…you are a batshit, paranoid, tinfoil, dog-abusing baby-hater and will be reviled by everyone. If you love your country and/or freedom, happiness, rainbows, rock and roll, puppy dogs, apple pie and your grandma, you will never ever express doubts about any part of this story to anyone. Ever.

This has been a public service announcement by: the Friends of the FBI, CIA, NSA, DIA, SEC, MSM, White House, NIST, and the 9/11 Commission.

Because Ignorance is Strength.

No place for criminals in MQM, i.e. without permission: Altaf Hussain

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has unequivocally stated that there was no place for criminal elements in the party, i.e without my permission.

He said that the MQM was a peace loving political party that believes in democratic principles and peaceful struggle, hence there was no room for criminals in it. The MQM Chief said this while talking to the members of Co-ordination Committee.

Altaf Hussain said that discipline was the hallmark of MQM hence no leniency should be shown to anyone, even if he was a member of the Co-ordination Committee. Without his permission, there was no place for criminals in the MQM yesterday and there is no place for such elements even today and in the future.

However, the member of Co-ordination Committee asked Altaf to tell them the whereabouts of such a peace loving political party?

Bodyguard feeling unsafe

The "Bodyguard" Star Salman Khan spoke in London about his ongoing recovery from the recent surgery and upcoming films. His film "‘Bodyguard" that was released on Eid broke all Box Office records but in real life Salman feels unsafe and wants ex-flame Katrina Kaif to be his Bodyguard.

About his surgery, he said, "They were looking for something else, but found an aneurysm. There was a problem from the spine. Everything is okay, but right now I`m tired because of the flight and the surgery."

He was in US for his treatment when "Bodyguard" was released, he could not believe it for starters that the film was such a big hit.

As reported by a daily, he revealed, "All our (Kareena and Salman`s) films together have been a disaster 'Kyon Ki', 'Main Aurr Mrs Khanna' so we took it as a challenge to make this film a hit. The reason it's a hit? May be because Katrina performed in its title song?"

A few of days ago, Salman said that, he wants to become Katrina Kaif's body guard.

Altaf Hussain's letter to British PM is authentic : DG ISI

The Director General of ISI Ahmad Shuja Pasha has confirmed the authenticity of the alleged letter of Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain addressed to then British Prime Minister Tony Blair and termed it "authentic".

DG ISI said the copy of the letter, which was referred to by Former Senior Sindh Minister Dr. Zulfikar Mirza in his recent press conference and is also available on the Internet, is "genuine".

The Leader of MQM and Former Karachi Mayor Syed Mustafa Kamal has however already termed the letter presented by Zulfiqar Mirza before the media as "fake and false". He had claimed that the address of MQM’s London Headquarter written in the letter was fake and the letter seems "self content".

But contrary to MQM's stance, the Official Website of Muttahida Qaumi Movement has proved MQM's claim as wrong, i.e. a Press Release posted on MQM’s Official Website "WHAT NAZARIA-E-PAKISTAN IS? – ALTAF HUSSAIN" and dated 26th October 2000 carries the same address which MQM Leader Mustafa Kamal had termed as "fake".

Moreover, MQM’s Former Senior Leader and Victim Dr. Imran Farooq had reappeared from this office being used as Headquarter before moving to the new offices in Middle Sex, London.

The copy of the alleged letter shows the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain seeking disbandment of the Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) in return to offering his party’s services to ground human intelligence within Pakistan and in Afghanistan for the British and other Western Intelligence Agencies. The alleged letter also sought foreign interference into country’s domestic affairs, political and administrative.

The following is the operative part of the alleged letter written on 23rd September 2001 by Altaf Hussain to Tony Blair:

“Hon. Tony Blair M P

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

10 Downing Street

London W1

In return for this assistance, we would seek assurances to achieve the following minimum objectives, which would be held essential for ourselves and for the good of Pakistan as a whole. Our objectives are as follows:

a) Equitable participation in the governance of the province of Sindh and the Federation as partners, genuinely.

c) That we would need local policing consisting of Muhajirs and Sindhis.

d) That full autonomy be granted to the provinces with Federation keeping only three subjects; Defence, Foreign Affairs and Currency control; and in these sectors equal representation from all provinces be guaranteed.

e) ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence Agency) the secret agency must be disbanded otherwise the ISI will continue to produce may Osama-bin-Ladens and Talibans in future.

I hope that you would be kind enough to seriously consider my offer for the benefit of Pakistan, should any geo-strategic and commercial relevance of Pakistan left for the United Kingdom and the Intelligence Community.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

With best wishes and warmest regards.

Yours sincerely

Altaf Hussain

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM).”

MQM is a "Terror Outfit" : Canada

According to National Post, the Federal Court of Canada has declared Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) a terrorist organization and deported the Head of MQM's Quebec Branch from Canada due to his association with MQM.

The judge upheld the deportation of Muhammed Kashif Omer, a resident of Montreal, on the grounds he is a member of the Muthaidda Quami Movement.

It is the second time this year Canadian courts have ruled the MQM party meets the legal definition of a terrorist organization.

Mr. Omer is one of dozens of Pakistanis whom Canadian immigration authorities have deported because of their involvement in the MQM.

Despite being blamed for the kidnapping, torture and murder of its political rivals in Pakistan, the MQM has opened a Canadian branch called MQM-Canada.

Members of the group have worked on Conservative election campaigns, met Prime Minister Stephen Harper and recently hosted a conference in Calgary.

Conservative MP Art Hanger spoke at the June 8-10 MQM Canada convention, which was attended by several Pakistanis who are being deported for their alleged involvement in terrorism. Mr. Hanger said he did not support the group. Conservative MLA Shiraz Shariff also attended. He said yesterday he was unaware Canadian courts had deemed the MQM a terrorist organization. "Why are we as a nation then allowing them to have a congregation here?" he said.

Among the speakers at the convention was Mr. Omer, who presented a report on the "achievements and future strategy" of the Montreal office of MQM.

Mr. Omer has no immigration status in Canada. A Canada Border Services Agency spokesman, Erik Paradis, said the court ruling means that the deportation order against Mr. Omer is now in effect.

The Canadian MQM branch has never been accused of illegal activities but in Pakistan the party has been blamed for widespread violence, specially on 12th May 2007 when gunfights between the MQM and anti-government demonstrators left more than fourty dead.

MQM officials deny any role in attacks and say they are victims of misinformation spread by Pakistani authorities. Canada's Security Intelligence Review Committee has been looking into complaints from MQM members that immigration authorities have unfairly branded them as terrorists.

Mr. Omer came to Canada in 1998 and was granted refugee status but in 2005 immigration officials said he could not remain in Canada "Because he knowingly and for a long period of time belonged to an organization that has engaged in terrorism."

In Pakistan, Mr. Omer had been a member of the MQM and its student wing from 1987 to 1998. He denied any involvement with the MQM in Canada but eventually acknowledged he was in charge of the MQM's Quebec office.

The Immigration and Refugee Board said "Mr. Omer's reasons for trying to hide that, in Canada, he is responsible for the Montreal section of the MQM-Canada lead me to believe that he knew that his party was committing many violent acts."

He appealed the decision to the Federal Court, arguing that the MQM is not a terrorist organization and that the violence was committed by rogue elements in the party, but the court was not convinced.

Zardari wanted to keep 17th Amendment for saving NRO : US Cable

President Asif Ali Zardari wanted to keep the infamous Seventeenth (17th) Amendment intact for saving NRO, that ensured the safety of his personal assets built by corruption, revealed WikiLeaks.

In a secret cable of 21st March, 2009, the US Ambassador Anne Patterson wrote to Washington the details of her meeting with President Zardari held on 18th March.

Anne Patterson told Washington that President Zardari told that he was not interested in repealing the Seventeenth Amendment despite pressure from PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s announcement of nullifying the Amendment on public demand.

The cable also revealed that the President also signaled that he would try to limit the powers of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, because it is the only way to safe guard his (Zardari's) personal assets.

President Zardari complained the US Ambassador that the US and UK governments did not support him properly in the crises time.

Anne Patterson further wrote that she was not hopeful that President Zardari would implement the announcements made by Prime Minister Gilani on public demand.

Saudia admits mistake in announcing Eid-ul-Fitr 2011

According to Fars News Agency, Saudi Government officials have reportedly apologized to those who have followed them and said that they would pay Kaffarah of (One Billion Saudi Riyal as expiation for breaking the fast during the holy month of Ramadan) for the entire Saudi Arabia. The Government gave order to the people and citizen of Saudi Kingdom to do fasting of one day because Eid-ul-Fitr was not supposed to be on 30th August 2011.

The Jeddah Astronomy Society  had said that people actually saw the planet Saturn and not the crescent moon that marks the beginning of the Islamic month of Shawwal.

Hatem Auda, director of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, had said that astronomical calculations by scientists of the institute noted that the first day of the Eid was Wednesday, 31st August, making Tuesday, 30th August the last day of Ramadan for the Hijri year of 1432.

Various news agencies such as Al-Arabiya and Al-Jazeera have also reported that the planet Saturn has been mistaken for the Hilal (crescent moon), and this means that what was announced as the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr was supposed to be a day of fasting, rather than celebrations.

According to the Al-Jazeera report, the source of these problematic Hilal-sighting is from Sudair, a region located approximately 150km North of the capital Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The vice-president of Jeddah Astronomy Society reassured that it is impossible to view the Hilal with the naked eye.

While a number of Muslim countries like Pakistan and Iran announce the new crescent only on the basis of frequent sightings by the people, astronomy societies and clerics inside their borders, many others rely on the sightings done by Saudi Arabia and announcement of the Eid Crescent by Riyadh.

Thus, those Muslim who have followed the Saudi suit as usual and celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on 30th August shall now fast for one day and pay their Kaffarah.

MQM seeked US help against Pashtuns & Punjabis : US Cable

The Muttahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) asked the United States for help against the Pashtuns and the Punjabis, claimed an April 2009 US Embassy Wire, released by Wikileaks.

The wire, headlined "MQM Principles and Conspiracy", covers a meeting of US Embassy Charge d'Affairs Gerald Feierstein with Senior MQM Leaders Farooq Sattar and Haider
Abbas Rizvi.

According to the wire, Haider Abbas Rizvi claimed Taliban maintain safe houses and weapon stashes in Pashtun neighborhoods. Glossing over his own party's reputation for political retribution.

Moreover, Rizvi claimed Muhajirs were outgunned by the Pashtun.

As usual Farooq Sattar and Haider Abbas Rizvi asserted the conspiracy of Pakistan's establishment stoking ethnic rivalry, designed to keep Punjabis in power. The Charged d'Affairs met with Sattar and Rizvi to discuss their party's stance against the recently signed Nizam-e-Adl Regulation, their ideas for a GOP (Government of Pakistan) response and the potential for violence in the mega-city their party controls.

Sattar said he had predicted the failure of dialogue with the frontier militants and advocated a strong military response. He asserted that, though part of the ruling coalition, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) had not confided any counter-terrorism strategic plans and surprised MQM (and apparently PPP members too) with an April 13 Parliamentary Resolution, endorsing the regulations. He suggested that all major political parties approach the Army to request immediate action against the Taliban.

Rizvi complained that fellow coalition partner Awami National Party (ANP) was fanning Pashtun ethno-nationalism in Karachi, and still moving forward with plans for a controversial May 12 Commemoration of 2007 Intra-Party Violence.

Farooq Sattar requested Embassy intervention to get the ANP to call off the day's events. He was seized with the national-level extremist threat precipitated by Parliament's endorsement and President Zardari's signing of the Nizam-e-Adl Regulation on April 13.

Turning to the security threats within the mega city his party controls, Sattar complained about the ANP's planned demonstration on May 12, marking the Second Anniversary of Inter-Party Violence. The Pashtun-based ANP was fanning ethnic tensions for electoral gains, he argued and repeated Kamal's request for Embassy's intervention with the ANP to cancel the event.

Although the May 12 ANP demonstration was called off subsequently, the violent outburst on April 29 serves as an unneeded reminder of the potential for these ethnic tensions to boil over quickly. "Despite their claims of innocence, we expect the MQM, with its own violent history, is prepared for that possibility.

Chaudhry Nisar (Family) is American : US Cable

Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N)’s Senior Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan's family is US National, and he assured the US in 2008 that he and his party were Pro-American, reveals WikiLeaks.

"Saying that his wife and children are in fact Americans, Nisar did admit that he went to the US Embassy in London to renew his daughter’s passport because he wanted to deceive the people of Pakistan and therefore wanted to avoid being seen at the US Embassy in Islamabad."

More telling, however, is Chaudhry Nisar’s stance on US Military action within Pakistan, and how the PML-N would act to remain "Publicly Credible".

Nisar reportedly avoided saying that the PML-N opposed either air attacks or US ground action, contrary to its reaction over the May 2011 Raid in Abbottabad by a US Navy SEALs which killed Al-Qaeda Chief Osama bin Laden.

"What he did say was that the PML-N would have to criticise the Government of Pakistan for allowing US action (US Military Raid in Abbottabad). Otherwise, said Nisar, the party would have no credibility with the people."

Nisar said that US policy needed to be more transparent as "confusion bred unhelpful conspiracy theories". He also told US diplomats that former president Pervez Musharraf was seen as too pro-US and so was "tainted in Pakistani eyes".

Update 14th September: Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Senior Leader of PML-N Chaudhry Nisar has said that the issue of his wife and children being American nationals has been exaggerated.

Moreover, he declared that he is patriot and loyal to the country and facts regarding nationality of his family members were not presented in the true perspective.

"My integrity and loyalty for the country was questioned by some elements despite the fact that my forefathers gave their blood to nourish this country," he made these remarks while clearing his position regarding Wikileaks' disclosure here.

Kamran Khan almost bowed down in praising Mustafa Kamal

Senior journalist Kamran Khan was all praises for Former Karachi Mayor Syed Mustafa Kamal in his Geo TV show "Aj Kamran Khan Ke Saath". He buttered Syed Mustafa Kamal so heavily that he almost bowed down in praising. Mean while Syed Sahab was feeling more and more embarssed by his act.

Kamran Khan gave mike to Syed Mustafa Kamal after a brief appreciation of Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Mustafa Kamal, but Mr. Kamal started defending and prasing himself and his party.

Seeing that his master is doing the dirty work, Kamran Khan repeatedly tried to intervene and said "Mustafa Kamal Sahab, you do not have to give any arguments in you defense or praise. I (Your humble servant) can do it for you...", and so on until he fell short of words.

No doubt Mustafa Kamal has been one of the best Mayors of Karachi along with the likes of Naimatullah Khan and Abdul Sattar Afghani, but being a host of a famous current affairs show, Kamran Khan shall not become someone advocate (Although this word is fairly light).

Altaf accepts Mirza's charges

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has partially accepted Former Sindh Senior Minister Zulfiqar Mirza's charges and said that International Powers were hatching conspiracy for the division of Pakistan and and he would risk his life, unless he and MQM collaborate with them towards achieving this goal.

During a marathon Video Conference, MQM Qaid Altaf Hussain
spoke of an International conspiracy to divide Pakistan.

Altaf Hussain, presented half a decade old map ("How a better Middle East would look" By Ralph Peters. Published at Information Liberation on 20th August 2006), which showed Pakistan limited to Punjab, Sindh and Azad Kashmir provinces / states only, while whole Khyber-Pakhtunkhuwa and Gilgit-Baltistan provinces along with Pashtun majority areas of Baluchistan province were marked as a part of Afghanistan.

The map also showed Free Baluchistan as an independent state containing Baluch majority areas of Pakistan and Iran.

Altaf Hussain said that he was willing to provide all MQM support in an effort to thwart international conspiracies, because Muhajir (Urdu-Speaking community) majority areas were still kept as part of Pakistan.
He said, "I fear I may be killed as I am a hurdle in plans of dividing Pakistan in this way, because it does not guarantee a separate state for Muhajirs."

Earlier, Zulfiqar Mirza levelling very serious allegation against MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, and said "During a meeting with Altaf Hussain in London he (Altaf Hussain) said the US wanted to disintegrate Pakistan and he and his party (MQM) would collaborate with the US towards achieving this goal. Altaf Hussain went on to say that he would kill the Pathans".

Shoaib & Sania - The practical couple

Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza are a practical couple, in fact a very practical couple, because if one of them has to take a day off the other one starts working.

They play one at a time, as proved many time in the past. And again lately, when just a day after it was discovered that Sania's year might be over with knee injury, Shoaib is back to work representing Pakistan in Zimbabwe. Very practical indeed.
