Exposing Imran Khan's Clean (Aleem) Khan

A villager from the suburbs of Lahore has come up with all the documentary evidence explaining a painful ordeal which establishes occupation of his land by Vision Developers, owned by senior PTI Leader and Candidate from NA-122 Abdul Aleem Khan.

Vision Developers, after hue and cry from different circles, repeated requests and daily visits of villager Haji Nazir Ahmad, gave him five cheques each amounting Rs500,000 in five installment in 2010 and 2011 (copies of cheques seen by The News and acknowledged by Vision Developers) but then once again refused to pay the major part of agreed amount (originally agreed in 2005) which was in tens of millions.

Aleem Khan agreed to pay him but in installments of Rs500,000 each. Haji Nazeer was given five cheques (details of cheques and is given below) in 2010 and 2011 in five installments and then he was denied any further payment.

Account:1 (Two cheques)

Account No- 0003-2000486003 in SILK BANK (Main Branch Lahore)

Cheque No-1532200 dated: September 07, 2010 amounting Rs500,000 (rupees five hundred thousand only) issued to Mr Nazir Ahmed & Cheque No-1902749 dated: October 22, 2010 amounting Rs500,000 (Rupees five hundred thousand only) issued to Mr Nazir Ahmad

Account:2

Account No- 01000101009262 in Askari Bank (Johar Town Branch, Lahore)

Cheque No-52316147 dated: December 27, 2010 amounting Rs500,000 (Rupees five hundred thousand only) issued to Mr Nazir Ahmad

Account:3

Account No- 0252-01875032 in Bank Alfalah (EME Society Branch, Lahore)

Cheque No-0022647 dated: February 15, 2011 amounting Rs500,000 (Rupees five hundred thousand only) issued to Mr Nazir Ahmad

Account:4

Account No- 0252-1002389511 in Bank Alfalah (EME Society Branch, Lahore)

Cheque No-0035571 dated: April 25, 2011 amounting Rs500,000 (Rupees five hundred thousand only) issued to Mr Nazir Ahmad

Haji Nazir, 55, was unable to make more efforts as he was threatened to not to visit the Thokar Niaz Baig office of Aleem Khan again. The land of Haji Nazir was handed over to DHA by Vision Developers.

Every big property group never purchases land directly from the land owners and always tries to purchase it through a middle man. They used to indirectly harass the land owners who refuse to sell their lands.

Faraz Chaudhry, Senior Executive at Vision Developer and Aleem Khan's Brother in Law, was correct that his company hasn’t directly purchased land from Haji Nazir and that the bounced cheque was not issued by Vision Developers. He was also true that cheques issued by Vision Developers were not bounced.

However, Vision Developers made a simple mistake in this case by issuing Haji Nazir five cheques of Rs500,000 each. Faraz Chaudhry had no answer to the question that for what purpose these cheques were issued in the name of Haji Nazir when Vision Developers never purchased land directly from land owners.

Outsourcing the way out of Nandipur debacle

The Nandipur Power Plant requires a furnace oil treatment plant with an annual capacity of 30 million tons, but the installed treatment plant has the capacity to process 19 million tons only that created hurdles in the way of operating the power plant at full capacity.

The National Engineering Services of Pakistan was the project consultant and it should have noticed and informed the authorities about the low-capacity treatment plant.

The government has now asked the EPC contractor, Dongfang, to enhance capacity of the treatment plant and has given it six months. It may install another plant to take the combined capacity to the required level.

The EPC contractor is bound to provide all equipment related to the power plant. It has submitted a $35-million guarantee and if it is found irresponsible, the guarantee may be encashed.

The Nandipur plant could produce 321 megawatts of electricity, which could be generated for six months before enhancing the capacity of furnace oil treatment plant. At present, the only option for the government is to run the plant at full capacity through natural gas, however, natural gas is not available.

General Musharraf - The Pakistani Pinochet

Pakistani Military Dictator General Musharraf and Chilean Military Dictator General Pinochet seems to have similar fate.

General Pinochet trial and house arrest started in 2004. However, by the time of his death on 10 December 2006, about 300 criminal charges were still pending against him in Chile for numerous human rights violations during his 17-year rule, and tax evasion and embezzlement during and after his rule.

While General Musharraf's trail started in December 2013 and yet he is still at large in Military Hospitals turned into Fugitive Camps.

Perhaps, most third world countries have such misfortune.

Pindi Metro route shortcommings

Metro has been an awesome introduction for twin cities, providing cheap and comfortable transport to a range of people, however, input from local officials or public office holders from Cantt and Islamabad was inadequate, for example

1- There is no Metro Station at Railway Station Rawalpindi, although it only required half a kilometer extension in Metro track from Haider Road and Metro could have connected with whole Pakistan.

2- There is no Metro Station at Karachi Company Islamabad, although it only required half a kilometer diversion of Metro track from Chamman Road and Metro could have connected with Western Islamabad, since all transport routes from Western part of Islamabad reach Karachi Company.

3- There is no Metro Station at Super Market Islamabad, although it only required half a kilometer diversion of Metro track from D-Chowk towards Ayub-Chowk on Ata-Turk Avenue and Metro could have connected with Super Market Islamabad.

4- There are far and few stations and crossings at Jinnah Avenue.
