Birth of a New Bhutto in Lahore

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) protagonist Imran Khan has rocked Lahore with a mammoth throng of cohorts at Minar-e-Pakistan, and has emerged as a new Buhtto in country's history.

Imran Khan gathered the same audience in terms of numbers and social background as Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto did about four decades ago. It is some thing the establishment and specially President Asif Ali Zardari shall worry about.

Gilani creates Ministry of Good Governance

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has created a new Ministry for Good Governance and termed it a move to improve governance.

In a move that highlights the tenuous, if not entirely severed, link between governance and this government, Prime Minister Gilani has created another new Federal Ministry.

"In order to ensure Clarity in Role, Integrated Service Delivery and Efficiency in Administering the Federal Administrative Function after implementation of the Eighteenth (18th) Amendment, restructuring has been done and a new Ministry for Good Governance has been created by the Prime Minister in Terms of Rule 3(2) of the Rules of Business, 1973," the statement issued by Prime Minister’s Secretariat said.

It was not clear how much additional expenses the exchequer will have to bear as a result of the decision taken at a time when the government claims to be trying to reduce expenses in view of the financial problems the country faces.

However, what is clear is that, the Government is busy creating jobs – for itself.

Ismail Abrehani - The lone ranger of Pakistan's Junagadh State

Junagadh & Manwadar, the offshore states of Pakistan were invaded and occupied by India soon after their accession to Pakistan. But Ismail Abrehani, a Senior Minister of Junagadh State, was the lone ranger who refused to accept Indian occupation and kept struggling for the independence of Junagadh from India.

During the partition of British India in 1947, the princely states were given a choice of acceding to either India or Pakistan or remaining outside them.

On 15th September, 1947, Nawab Muhammad Mahabat Khanji III of Junagadh, a princely state located on the south end of Kathiawar peninsula, chose to accede to Pakistan, because Junagadh adjoined Pakistan by sea.

However, Indian Government was bent upon on swallowing Junagadh and had decided and made full fool-proof preparations to do so?

On the 25th of September the so-called unlawful "Aarzee Hukumat" was formally formed with Shri Saamar Das Gandhi as President. It may please be noted that this relative of Mahathma Gandhi was not even a resident of Junagadh.

Secondly, the Government of India had decided a day earlier Indian Armed Forces and the Armies of the States in Kathaiwar should be suitably dispersed around Junagadh. This clearly shows that preparations to attack Junagadh commenced even before the formation of the so-called unlawful Civilian Provisional Government of Junagadh. It was a deliberate act of provocation on the part of the Indian Government.

As a part of the preparation for the invasion against and occupation of Junagadh, the Government of India constituted a "Kathiwar Division" of the Indian Army with Brigadier Gurdial Singh as the Chief with Rajkot as Headquarters. Besides, three War Ships were anchored at the port of Porbander and eight Tempest War planes were stationed at the Rajkot Airport.

Mangrol and Babariawad were two states under the suzerainty of Junagadh. The Goverrnment of India covertly through Indian Army and overtly through a Civil Adminstrator took over the two states on the 1st of November 1947. The Government of India took over by force Sardargadh a neighbouring town of Bantava and then it captured Bantva on the Eid-ul-Azha Day whilst the Muslims were peacefully praying in mosques.

Junagadh was occupied on the 9th of November 1947 at 6 PM by the Indian Army led by Brigadier Gurdial Singh. Thus, from that day Junagadh became de facto India's whilst being de jure Pakistan's.

Immediately after the take-over of the state, all Muslim Officials of the state were put behind bars. They included Ismail Abrehani, who had taken the Instrument of Accession to the Quaid-e-Azam for his signature. Abrehani refused to leave Junagadh, even when he was offered in jail the option of going to Pakistan, saying that despite its occupation Junagadh was part of Pakistan according to International law and he preferred to remain. He stayed and later died in Junagadh.

Salman Butt contacted Imran Khan before Fixing

Salman Butt’s disclosure before a British Court that he was in touch with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chief Imran khan while bargaining for gambling amount stunned the nation.

Railways eat 30 Locomotives per year : Bilour

Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said that Railways requires thirty (30) locomotives per year in its diet, i.e. to keep its kitchen running. And if the Government Bailout Package is not be released soon, then the number of locomotives would not have decreased to the current level.

"If the money was released and digested at proper time, then the crisis would not have escalated to this level" Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said.

Bilour added that Railways
required thirty (30) locomotives on yearly basis in its diet, i.e. to keep the (Minister's and the Railways Top Brass's) kitchen running.

Royal Rumble in Pakistan's Parliament

Royal Rumble broke out in Pakistan's Parliament and distinctly non-parliamentary language filled the air. This unsavoury clash between the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) legislators revived memories of similar transgressions in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Royal Rumble between PML-N legislators and MQM members broke out during a fiery speech by Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, who launched an attack on MQM and demanded that Dr Zulfiqar Mirza bring his briefcase of evidence against the MQM to parliament rather than taking it to London. He also demanded a debate on the charges made against the MQM.

Things got worse with the PML-N MNA’s Abid Sher Ali and Hanif Abbasi and some MQM MNAs almost coming to blows.

To overcome much feared Dengue Epidemic, that is haunting every citizen in the Lahore, the City District Government Lahore has decided to hire Dengue Mosquitoes in Dengue Brigade. They said that according to annual schedule the hiring campaign was to start formally in the mid of the September but delayed due to sluggish attitude of the authorities despite the special directions from the Punjab Chief Minister who directed CDG authorities to launch campaign before scheduled time keeping in mind the disastrous situation of Dengue Epidemic this year which claimed lives of hundreds of citizens.

Brilliant Butt to continue as PCB Chairman : President's Spokesman

PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt will continue in his role for an indefinite period, i.e. until Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari, who is also the Patron of the PCB, decides otherwise.

Butt, whose constitutional three-year tenure has already ended, left for Dubai to attend the ICC's executive board meeting, putting to an end speculation of an immediate removal. "The matter of the extension of his tenure is under consideration," told President's Spokesman Farhatullah Babar. "As per the normal practice in our Governmental System, anyone whose tenure ends can carry on with the President's consent".

"So, he can continue his good work for an indefinite period of time."

Butt's tenure, though, has been plagued with controversies, including the armed attack on the Sri Lanka team in Lahore that resulted in Pakistan being denied the chance to co-host the 2011 World Cup, the spot-fixing scandal (and the problems with the ECB in its aftermath when Butt made controversial accusations against the England Team), Zulqarnain Haider's fleeing to the UK mid-way through a tour after receiving threats from bookies and, most recently, a much-publicised clash with Shahid Afridi.

The Day I Wished I Could Fly

The day I wished I could fly
Beyond those mountains through the sky
I can hear their screams and their cry
 Beneath the rubble thousands lie
Hope we can give a fruitful try
Otherwise thousands will die
The day I wished I could fly

Zardari Network taking Pakistan to Stoneage

Zardari Network is taking Pakistan to stoneage, as the Zardari Network Government is bent upon destroying the institutions and continues to plunder of what little there is left to pillage in the unfortunate country.

During Pakistan People Party's previous two stints in the government, the Zardari Network has looted Billion of Dollars from Pakistan - not just from Kickbacks on government contracts  but also by land grabbing and all sort of other tactics.

The country is passing through a critical situation and the Zardari Nework Government is showing complete indifference towards the worsening energy crisis, especially electricity shortage, in the country. The Zardari Nework Government is unconcerned about the plight of patients in hospitals and students in schools. The Dengue Patients are suffering the most due to long unannounced power outages, specially in Lahore and other big cities, and due to unprecedented load-shedding, sophisticated medical equipment for Dengue Patients in hospitals had been damaged.

But despite prolonged load-shedding, people are being sent inflated electricity bills.

The economic situation of the country has deteriorated, no investment is coming in and unemployment has reached alarming levels.
The energy crisis had severely damaged economy of the country. And the machinery for power plants has been lying at the Karachi port for over two years, but the Zardari Nework Government has taken no steps to install them for overcoming power crisis in the country.

Pakistan faces debilitating challenges, from an uncontrollable Zardari Network to an economy on the fritz to a fractured political system that, for a nation of One Hundred Sixty Five (165) Million, seems incapable of producing one fairly reliable, uncorrupted leader.

According to Afghan President Hamid Karzai's Spokesman, investigations show that the killer of Burhanuddin Rabbani, its negotiator with the Taliban, was a Pakistani by Blood, because he had "Green Blood Plasma".

Ghazi Mumtaz Qadri following the foot steps of Ghazi Ilm-ud-Din Shaheed

Similar to Ghazi Ilum-ud-Din Shaheed Case, the Anti-Terrorism Court of Rawalpindi sentenced Ghazi Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri to death for the Honored-Killing of slain Governor Punjab Salman Taseer for making 'Blasphemous' remarks.

The Court not only rejected all the religious and moral points, but along the same lines with the Ghazi Ilum-ud-Din Shaheed Case it rejected the Extenuating Circumstances, i.e. Ghazi Mumtaz Qadri was riled up by feelings of veneration for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

Moreover, the Judge Pervaiz Ali Shah declared the 'Killing of a Blasphemer' a 'Heinous Crime'.

Earlier Ghazi Mumtaz Qadri confessed to killing Taseer, saying he objected to the politician's calls to amend the Blasphemy Law, which mandates the death penalty for those convicted of defaming the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). And he felt that Taseer habitually made Blasphemous Remarks because of Governor's Immunity to Justice.

Taseer was outspoken in his criticism of the Blasphemy Law and the Verdict in the Asia Bibi Case and tried to protect her by using his Governorship Powers.

However, contrary to Taseer's claim, the Initial International Media Reports prove otherwise. According to CNN, Asia Bibi was convicted of (Nauzubillah) insulting Prophet Muhammad, while  working in a field with several Muslim women in a village near Sheikhupura, Punjab.

She (Nauzubillah) told them the Quran was "fake" and made comments about one of  Prophet Muhammad's wives and about Prophet Muhammad's health in his final days.

During the court proceedings Asia Bibi (Nauzubillah) reaffirmed that she had uttered remarks against Muhammad and she restated her remarks in front of the whole village. She argued in defense of her remarks and made no attempts at an apology.

While in custody, Asia Bibi again admitted to the comments and then told other female prisoners that she was "proud" of her remarks (Nauzubillah). During the trial she did not repeat her comments but never denied uttering them as well.

Many from her village and almost her entire village council testified against her as to having heard her make the remarks and reaffirm them twice.

Given the established facts against Asia Bibi, Salman Taseer's act of trying to protect a Proven Blasphemer, is thought to be a Blasphemy in itself.

Update 11th October: Islamabad High Court bench led by Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman has stayed the implementation on Ghazi Malik Mumtaz Qadri's Death Orders.

Former Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Khawaja Muhammad Sharif is leading the panel of lawyers defending Ghazi Malik Mumtaz Qadri in the appeal which he filed against his conviction for killing former Governor Punjab Salman Taseer in Islamabad High Court.
