Pakistan's Strongest Political Party attends APC

The All Parties Conference (APC) convened by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is also attended by Pakistan's Strongest Political Party, the Pakistan Army. Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shamim Wyne represented Army's Political Wing.

The agenda of the APC is to bring all political parties and forces onboard to formulate a consensus policy regarding US accusations against Pakistan, i.e. regarding the Haqqani Network.

Strained ties between Pakistan and the United States are under discussion in the APC. According to sources Federal Defense Minister Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar is busy in mending shoes at his shoe factory. Therefore, DG ISI Lieutenant General Ahmed Shuja Pasha is briefing the conference on the security of the country and region along with Pak-US relations.

The ISI Chief explained that "Every militant organization has multiple wings, including a political wing, and Haqqani Network is no exception". He further said that "We only keeps liaison with Haqqani Network's political wing for peace in Afghanistan".

May be Pakistan Army is no exception as well?
