Karachi Police asked to deweaponize

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has asked Karachi Police to deweaponize the city from all weapons. Karachi Police has acted swiftly and laid down their arm.

Inspector General of Police Sindh, Wajid Durrani said "It was so easy – just an order and the goal of deweaponization was successfully achieved. Now the policemen are only allowed to carry note books."

Durrani further said "We will soon display the heaps of weapons collected during the deweaponization campaign to the media."

After all, for what purpose police carry weapons, when in Karachi at least, they apparently seem to be under orders to allow complete freedom of action to miscreants?
