Imran hugs MQM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has hugged Leaders of Mutahida Qaumi Movement at wedding of PTI Leader Arif Alwi’s daughter in Karachi and also received the warm wishes sent by MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain. Imran Khan also informed MQM Leaders that he has successfully controlled the Lions (Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz) in Punjab and hinted an Alliance in Next Elections.

The move seemed a continuity of Imran-Altaf Affair, that started a year ago when the two rival Political Leaders decided to bury the hatchet (along with the Inquiry of 12th May Killings and the Scotland Yard Investigations) and have vowed to work together.

There had been reports of Imran Khan started showing soft corner for MQM after meeting with the American Ambassador Cameron Munter last year.

As new details are coming to light, few will believe the depths being plumbed by some in our media and politics. Asia Times Online wrote:

"In the second week of March, Imran Khan held a long meeting with the US Ambassador in Islamabad, Cameron Munter. A few days later a major shift in his politics surprised many. Imran Khan produced a statement supportive of MQM Policies despite formerly filing a Money Laundering Case against MQM Leader Altaf Hussain in a British Court".

Moreover, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), said that the Match had been Fixed long ago between the Mutahida Qaumi Movement and Tehreek-e-Insaf and the public meeting of 25th December in Karachi was also a fixed one. He said the warm meeting between the Leadership of the MQM and Imran Khan in Karachi had totally exposed them as Imran assured the MQM in the meeting that he had controlled the "Lions." He said shaking hands with the MQM was another "U-Turn" of Imran, adding that the people remembered that the PTI Chief had been terming the MQM responsible for target killing, corpses in bags, no-go areas, torture cells and extortion in Karachi. He said Imran had also been fixing the responsibility of fifty (50) deaths in the Massacre of 12th May in Karachi and after that he had gone to London to file a Suit against Altaf Hussain. Pervaiz Rasheed said the entire politics of Imran revolved around opportunism and unprincipled politics. He said the claimants of change had gathered around him the old guards of "Status Quo".
