Pakistanis are not happy with the status quo and have a genuine desire for change. Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is skillfully grabbing the opportunity and channeling the people's desire for change.
However, is Imran Khan capable of bringing the "Desired Change"?
Imran Khan has held Massive Gatherings at Lahore & Karachi, and tens of thousands of his Young Followers see him as a Messiah. But that reminds us about the Pied Piper of Hamelin, as Imran Khan is only raising slogans, while remaining tactically unclear about the implementation.
Alike the young followers of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, Imran Khan's followers are doting more and questioning less, feeling more and thinking less. They are not even demanding a Detailed Manifesto, Policy Specifications, a Democratic Party Infrastructure, and a Shadow Cabinet which should ideally be the Foundation Stones of much promised Revolution.
One wonders, if Imran Khan is declared disqualified in the next Election under Articles 63-G & 63-H of the Constitution of Pakistan, i.e for his "Proven" involvement in Immoral Activities, such as the Sita White Case etc. Would anyone vote for a PTI led by Shah Mahmood Qureshi? If not, then Imran Khan has fashioned a Personal Cult and not a Genuine Political Movement.
An explanation must be demanded for Imran Khan’s recent endorsement of Feudal-Based Patronage as his Electoral Strategy. Yes, Imran Khan has brought PTI's induction levels down, but the followers' expectations need not be.
Unless Imran Khan's followers become realistic and stop excusing everything with the over used argument "Imran is better than others", we may witness a remix of Pied Piper of Hamelin; i.e the Modern Pied Piper.
