Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri sworn in as Al Qadea Chief to succeed the slain Osama bin Laden. Zawahiri secured 110% votes, and vowed there will be no let up in its “jihad against the invading armies and ...”.

“The election commissioner of Al Qaeda announces, after voting and consultations with all the one and half dozen Al Qaeda fighters throughout the world, the appointment of Sheikh Ayman al-Zawahiri as head of the group. Zawahiri secured 110% votes, the 10% additional weightage of Sheikh Osama bin Laden Shaheed's advance vote was also counted,” the network said in statement posted on a militant website.
