After a heated debate in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Central Executive Committee, it was decided that Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Chief, is responsible for all the US Drone Attacks and ever growing US Interference in Pakistan.
The debate started when PTI Chairman Imran Khan said, the US Drone Attacks in Pakistan are being conducted with the consent of (Pakistan Peoples Party's) Current Government. And such attacks can be stopped, if the Government wishes.
At that point, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who remained Foreign Minister in the Current Government for three years, said the Current Government has neither given any consent nor is it responsible for US Drone Attacks. As it was Pervaiz Musharraf who granted permission to US for Drone Attacks in Pakistan.
Hearing this Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri, the Foreign Minister in Musharraf's Government, furiously said the Drone Attacks were not permitted in his tenure between 2002 - 2007, and might have been allowed earlier.
It is worth noted that before the 2002 General Elections, the Foreign Minister in Musharraf's Cabinet was Abdul Sattar, a Former Central Secretary of Information in PTI and an acquaintance of Imran Khan & Dr Shireen Mazari.
Kasuri's statement made Dr Shireen Mazari uneasy, and she said the US Drone Attacks were not permitted in Abdul Sattar's tenure either, and might have been a continuity of Nawaz Sharif's policies, such as the capture of Mir Aimal Kasi.
Senior PTI Leader Javed Hashmi, who was the Minister at the time of Kasi's capture, tried to clarify Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) position on Aimal Kasi Episode and said Aimal Kasi was captured with the help of a Leghari Sardars of Choti Zareen (Dera Ghazi Khan) and Establishment, without informing the Government.
Yusuf Ayub Khan, the grandson of Field Marshal Ayub Khan and nephew of Gohar Ayub Khan (Foreign Minister at the time of Aimal Kasi's capture), acknowledged Hashmi's statement and said my Uncle's Government refused to accept US Financial Offers and conducted Nuclear Blasts and President Sardar Farooq Leghari was behind the capture of Aimal Kasi.
Leghari Brothers considered it a personal attacked and Awais Leghari loudly replied, my father had no role in Aimal Kasi's capture and it was assisted by the same people who helped US in the capture of Ramzi Yousef in 1996.
Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali, who was the Foreign Minister at the time of Ramzi Yousef's capture, i.e. during Benzair Bhutto's Government between 1993-1996, defended and said, Ramzi Yousef was also the Master Mind of an unsuccessful assassination attempt on Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. How could we hand over such a high profile person without trying?
To stop this ever increasing quarrel PTI Chairman Imran Khan intervened and said please stop this non sense.
Imran Khan further said "What I know is that Nawaz Sharif is responsible for all the bad happened in Pakistan, and should be held responsible for US Drone Attacks as well. PTI demands Nawaz Sharif to desolve Punjab Government over its involvement in Drone Attacks."
Imran Khan is right because Nawaz Sharif is a re-known Air-Terrorist for his involvement in Hijacking of Musharraf's Plane and now the Ariel Drone Attacks. I wonder why Nawaz is not considered among the 9/11 Terrorists, although he enjoyed friendly ties with Osama Bin Laden?
