Indian Rouge Army

Indian Military has been involved in sensitive covert operations in Pakistan as well as their homeland India.

A special unit called Technical Services Division was setup by Indian Army Chief General Vijay Kumar Singh for sensitive covert operations in Pakistan for assisinating alledged Mumbai Attack Mastermind, Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed.

"Our main task was to combat the rising trend of state-sponsored terrorism by the ISI and we had developed contacts across the Line of Control in a bid to infiltrate Hafiz Saeed’s inner circle," an Official who served with the controversial Technical Services Division said.

Army documents, reveal the Senior-Most Officers signed off on the formation of this Unit. File No A/106/TSD and 71018/ MI give details of approvals by the Director General Military Intelligence, Vice-Chief and Chief of Army Staff.

However, soon the unit started spiying on Indian Defence Ministry Officials through off-the-air interceptors - was raised as a strategic force multiplier for preparing, planning and executing special operations "Inside depth areas of countries of interest and countering enemy efforts within the country by effective covert means."

The TSD - which reported directly to General VK Singh - also used Secret Service Funds to initiate a PIL against Current Chief General Bikram Singh.

Reported during October 2012, secret funds were paid to an NGO to file the PIL, in a bid to stall Bikram Singh’s appointment as Chief of Staff.

Though covert operations were formally shut down by Indar Kumar Gujral when he was Prime Minister in 1997, sources reveal the TSD carried out several such operations within and outside the country — such as Operation Rehbar 1, 2 and 3 in Kashmir, Operation Seven Sisters in North-Eastern India and Operation Deep Strike in Pakistan.

Furthermore, the TSD also tapped the phones of J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and of his colleagues in the Cabinet during the protracted faceoff in 2011 between the government and the Army over the Armed Forces Special Powers Act.

Snooping activities by TSD were first picked up by the J&K Police in Jammu, and the Chief Minister was subsequently informed. It was a DIG-Level Officer of the J&K Police who apprised his Senior Officers about alleged surveillance activity being carried out from the Sunjwan camp in Jammu and a private house rented by the TSD in a housing colony at Channi Himmat in Jammu.

A Police Team was deployed to cross-check, and it came back with the confirmation. Moreover, the snooping was also confirmed to the Chief Minister later by a Senior Army Officer.

Moin Khan - Always part of Pakistan's defeat against Zimbabwe

Pakistan Team Manager Moin Khan has defended the side from the criticisms following their humiliating win against Zimbabwe in the Second Test, saying that their overall performance was "Satisfactory".

Moin Khan, who somehow or other has always been part of Pakistan's loses against minnows Zimbabwe in 1995, 1998 and 2013, believes that the team does not to apologise for their results as they are not unusual.

According to Khan, the conditions suited Zimbabwe more than Pakistan during the Second Test, although he admitted that Pakistan had played badly in both the one-day and the Test match that they lost. However, it is important not to demoralize players and instead take measures to boost their confidence.

What's More - Whatmore

What's more Whatemore? If not winning against Ireland after six years wasn't enough, Pakistan has now lost against Zimbabwe after fifteen (15) years. Back then, Pakistan lost to arguably the most formidable Zimbabwe side in history - one that was capable of standing up to the best International Sides. With the cricketing climate in the country having undergone a drastic change since then, any victory by current setup against a top side will be remembered for long.

Update 14th September:
Zimbabwe has again stunned Pakistan by winning Second Test at Harare.

The great escape from Dera Jail

It was cowardice, it was failure of nevers, however, it wasn't intelligence failure that caused Dera Ismail Khan's Central Prison debacle.

Although, Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhuwa, Pervaiz Khattak, and his Government were usually quick to blame that no intelligence was shared with them. However, it’s not that the attack caught the Local Authorities by surprise. Actually yes it did. It wasn’t an intelligence failure, though, but a security failure on the part of the Provincial Government. On the 26th, 27th, and 28th of July, Three Top-Secret Urgent Memos were sent from Local Intelligence Authorities to the Provincial Government, repeatedly warning that an attempt on the jail was imminent. But nothing happened. Well, a lot happened. But nothing from the Provincial Government’s side.

Earlier, about two hundred (200) Tehreek-e-Taliban Fighters, lead by Umar Khitab, broke their fasts in Tank and in three flanks left for Dera Ismail Khan to rescue and bring back fourty eight (48) very valuable comrades imprisoned in the Dera Ismail Khan's Central Prison.

The daring attack was masterminded by Adnan Rasheed, who gained fame for his assassination attempt on then President General Pervez Musharraf, and was himself serving time in Bannu Prison, i.e. till he himself was jail broken, along with hundreds of other comrades. And that incident was termed as "Total collapse of ANP Government and Law & Order in KP" by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman, Imran Khan.

The Dera Jail attack commenced half hour before min-night, and the attackers came through the main entrance, as the Jail Defenders simply threw down their weapons, and stood aside.

The attackers started searching for their comrades and within half an hour, they were on their way back – with the fourty eight (48) they came for, and another one ninty four (194) for good measure.

The return route was the same as when they came, and they Victoriously reached Waziristan, where they were given Heroes’ Welcome.

Later, Adnan Rasheed, who seems to be a specialist in Jailbreaks, said "We know where our brothers are being held captive in jails across the country. It is part of our jihad to help free our brothers and rest assured that we will free them, soon."

Shameful is a dignified word : Shameless Khan

Shameful is a dignified word, shamelessly said, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, in his reply to the Contempt of Court Case.

Refering to Imran Khan's statement in which he used the word "Shameful" for the Supreme Court of Paksitan and the Judiciary, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry asked "Can such words be used for the judiciary?"

Chief Justice added that since Imran is a leader and public figure, such words and statements are not expected from him.

However, Imran Khan had different thoughts and he stubornly stood by his words.

The Court deemed Imran Khan's reply as inadequate. The words allegedly used for the Judiciary can be punishable by law according to the Court’s decision at the end of the hearing.

Earlier, Imran Khan said "I have not done or said anything that is punishable by law, my statements were made in the interest of democracy in Pakistan".

Imran Khan had vowed on that he would "Stand by his Stance", even if it meant he is sentenced and disqualified from being elected into the assemblies, and said "If this is contempt, then I do not think they know the meaning of contempt."
